Tips for Choosing a Bed & Breakfast in Bowness on Windermere

You've chosen to Stay in the Lake District

What do you look for in a b&b?

You may consider the following in order of importance when booking your Bowness Accommodation:

Its all about Location!

  • You would like to be within walking distance to all amenities, attractions, pubs and restaurants and leave your car safely at the b&b. Free parking at Holmlea.
  • You prefer to stay in a quiet residential neighbourhood to a bustling town centre. Holmlea is on a quiet road and just two minutes walk to the village of Bowness and Lake Windermere.
  • If you're travelling on public transport make sure you are located near good bus and train links. Windermere train station is 1.5 miles to Holmlea and is an easy walk or bus/taxi drive.
Guest Reviews
  • Read what people are saying about their holiday experience at your chosen b&b.
  • You can now directly ask them on our TripAdvisor business page
PricesPrice
  •  If you're looking for guest house accommodation in Bowness and are quoted a price that seems too good to be true, then it usually is just that. Our rates are fair with no hidden costs.
  • By trying to save money on a guest house or b&b and going with the cheapest option, you could be jeopardising your entire trip it if isn't up to scratch. Our standards are exceptionally high.
  • Look at what extra facilities you are been offered for the price.
  • Do always check out any Special Offers.
Availability
  • Use a safe, secure and easy to use booking system on your chosen b&b's website.
  • Again, check for any Special Offers. The best rates may apply to longer stays!

FairBooking at Holmlea

Reserve Your Stay in Cumbria

by Choosing to Book Direct

We have recently signed up to Cumbria Tourisms FairBooking Scheme

FairBooking is an initiative promoted by Cumbria Tourism, the official Tourist Board and Destination Management Organisation in Cumbria, which aims to provide the best accommodation deal for customers and a better deal for the local tourism industry in the location you intend visiting.

You may not be aware that large Online Travel Agents charge us 15-20% commission to receive bookings from their sites, and none of that money goes back into the local economy, or helps our business.

We therefore want to avoid paying this commission and highlight to our customers the benefits of booking direct and online via our own trusted website www.holmleaguesthouse.co.uk

How does FairBooking work?

The concept is straight forward. FairBooking encourages consumers to book directly with the accommodation establishment. Why? Booking your accommodation via our website ensures that our customers get the best deal.

What do you get for booking direct?

What do we do in return for your direct booking?
  • We will donate 50p from all our direct bookings directly to our chosen cause The Cumbria Air Ambulance.

What do you get for booking via an Online Travel Agent?

In Summary - 3 great reasons to book direct!

  • The best deal for you - our guest
  • A better deal for locals and the local destination
  • A better deal for our business

Thank you for booking direct on your next holiday in the Lake District.

New Website Goes Live!

Welcome to Holmlea News

Our First Blog

Welcome to the first entry in our new blog to introduce our new and improved Website which has just gone live and is available at the usual address www.holmleaguesthouse.co.uk.

It’s been a while in the making but we feel it’s been well worth the wait! Personally we think it’s great, and hope you agree. A lot of time, thought and effort has gone in to it and it’s been designed very much with you in mind. It can also be viewed on any device: computer, smart phone, tablet or ipad making it much more accessible either when you are at home or on the move.

It has so much more to offer, we’ve added better content, better full size pictures and some very tempting special offers available all year round! Please do take the time to look through the site, we particularly like the “google map” where you can enter your postcode and get directions straight to our door. This is a great tool and allows you to find out exactly where we are without leaving our site.

We also hope to post exciting information regularly via our new Blog Page  "Holmlea News" and don’t forget you can also follow us on twitter or facebook to catch up with day to day goings on etc.

Thanks for reading.
